Helping The Community

The FSIC Minority Policy Priorities Task Force (MPPTF) aims to counteract harmful special interest influences by advocating for policies that reflect the actual needs and priorities of minority communities.  These priorities include policies affecting contracting opportunities, fairness in venture capital investment, relief from insulin deserts, access to government funding, the renewal of voting and civil rights protections, criminal justice reforms, and appraisal equity. By focusing on these areas, the task force seeks to restore the power and influence that African American and minority communities should wield in shaping policies that directly affect their lives, thereby fostering a more inclusive and representative democratic process.

Spann emphasizes spiritual growth, pastoral care, cultural identity, community outreach and social justice to connect the community and the church while facilitating change in the surrounding neighborhoods. He led the church in a revitalization project that included installing an elevated lift and enhancing both the sanctuary lighting and the media ministry. Additionally, Rev.
